Quinta da Romaneira

This beautiful 400 hectare property is in the process of being restored after years of neglect. A consortium, including Cristian Seeley of Noval, bought it in 2004. So far eighty-one hectares are under vine and it is producing some lovely wines. The wines are sold under the Quinta de Romaneira and R de Romaneira labels. Vintage ports have been produced since the 2004 vintage.

Quinta de Roriz

This historic estate, a little village in its own right complete with a church, was bought by Symington Family Estates in 2009. The wines have a lovely mineral firmness to their tastes, as befits an estate which once boasted gold and tin deposits. Roriz is now the home of Chryseia, and its second label Post Scriptum, both excellent Douro red wines made in collaboration with Bordeaux producer Bruno Prats.
